ECONPress is currently accepting submissions until January 31st for our Spring 2026 academic undergraduate journal.

Submissions can vary in length based on the category of submission.

ECONPress does not accept papers submitted written with AI, authors will need to sign confirming this.

All papers must be written by current undergraduate students or have been written while the author was an undergraduate student.


Publication categories and descriptions:

Viewpoint
Offer a point of view on a topic of interest related to the practice or policy of economics. Though a position focused submission, viewpoints should be properly cited, providing substantiated perspective.
Wordcount: Submissions may vary between 400-750 words

Commentary
Provide a discussion on a topic of interest related to the practice or policy of economics. Unlike a research paper, commentaries do not include original research but borrow from existing literature. All sources must be cited.
Wordcount: Submissions may vary between 1250-1500 words

Original Research
Original research papers address a specific research question or topic of focus. They can be empirical, theoretical, or narrative in structure. In this manner submissions mirror the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the discipline of economics. Submissions are expected to be original and offer an insight to the point being discussed. All sources used must be cited.
Wordcount: Typical submissions vary between 3,000- 5,000 words

For all submissions:

  • APA style is the standard for journal submissions.
  • All graphs must be created by the author.

For all accepted submissions, prior to publication in the journal, all authors of a paper must sign a consent to publish form (these will be sent post acceptance).
